Mountain Observatories: A Global Fair and Workshop on Long-Term Observing Systems of Mountain Social-Ecological Systems

Mountain Observatories: A Global Fair and Workshop is a multiple-day fair and workshop series for all who gather data on mountain social, biological and abiotic systems. The purpose of the fair and workshop is to move toward more comprehensive observing systems for the world’s mountain regions by building up from the grassroots of existing observing systems.
Conference InformationFor field trips, please note: Mid-conference field trips 2, 3, 4 and 5 are included in conference registration fees and participants will select a mid-conference field trip upon registration (below). There are only 75 places available in these scientific mid-conference field trips so be sure to register quickly!
Pre- and post-conference field trips 1 and 6 are longer expeditions for which participants must pay and register separately:
- Pre-Conference Field Trip (1) – Tour the Heart of the Great Basin Desert, July 12-15, 2014 (4 days)
- Post-Conference Field Trip (6) – Exploring the Southern Sierras: Water, Snow and Ecosystem Monitoring Across the Range, July 20-22, 2014 (3 days)

Students may still register and pay the full regular or late registration fee.

- Regular registration (June 5-July 2, 2014): $350*
- Late and on-site registration (after July 2, 2014): $450*

Accommodations are available at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino in downtown Reno, one mile from the University of Nevada, Reno campus. Room rates at the Silver Legacy for conference participants are $59+ resort fee and facility fee of $12 per night Tuesday-Thursday; and $109+ resort fee and facility fee of $12 per night Friday-Saturday. Conference room rates are available July 13-22, 2014. Reservations must be made by June 15 to secure the conference rate.
