EDUC 495 Educ Top / Nevada State Standards and Astronomy

Description:

Using K-12 Nevada State Standards for Astronomy Standards, this course will engage students' imaginations and spark scientific curiosity in astronomy. This is an especially powerful way to approach physics and Earth science concepts. We will bear forth a study of our solar system (and beyond) from anyone’s backyard, through the use of fun hands-on activities and experiments. This course will acquaint the learner with what resources are available regionally to help teach Astronomy. The student will use these resources effectively in their classroom, to excite students in alignment with state standards. We'll explore ways to incorporate NASA and other science materials appropriately for any grade level from kindergarten through high school.
